Would Elgato Game Capture HD work inside VIrtualbox?

Would Elgato Game Capture HD work inside VIrtualbox?

I've tried it and it doesn't seem to work. It just tells me it's trying to
establish a connection. Would the data rate from the USB application be
too high for Virtualbox to handle? I set up the USB settings and added the
USB connections for Elgato Game Capture HD. It works on my other computer
which runs Win7 as the host OS. I'm running Ubuntu 13.04
